Atletico Madrid's Sergio Aguero: I cannot tell Lionel Messi where I am playing next year
Kun revealed that his friend and international team mate has been asking him constantly about the future, but that he doesn't know where he will be in August.
Atletico Madrid star Sergio Aguero has refused to speculate on whether he will move away from the Colchoneros in the summer transfer window, revealing that he cannot even tell Argentina teammate and close friend Lionel Messi where he will be playing in 2011-12.
Messi and Aguero have grown up together in the Argentina youth system, playing on the same side at various age levels before becoming teammates in the full national team. The pair are currently in Buenos Aires with the rest of Sergio Batista's Copa America squad, preparing the tournament due to be held in July on home soil.
Questioned today on leaving an Albiceleste training session, Aguero affirmed that not even the Barcelona superstar knew if he would be transferred in the close-season, as nothing had been decided.
"Lio always asks me: 'What team are you going to, what team are you going to? You'll tell me first, right?' I tell him that right now I don't know anything, and when I do he will be the first to find out," the 22-year-old explained to reporters on Friday afternoon.
Aguero moved on to praise his La Liga rival, saying that there was no better player currently in world football.
"For me Lio is the best in the world and he will always be, I say that to everyone. Playing alongside him in the Seleccion makes me very happy, as it would for any player," he affirmed.
"Despite being rivals in the Spanish league, we get on very well and we are great friends."
'El Kun' has become the subject of strong transfer rumors since the La Liga season ended, with many reports linking him to Atletico's archrivals Real Madrid. The player has mentioned previously that he would like to leave his current employers, but that any decision would have to wait until after the Copa America has finished.
